PITTSBURGH, PA / ACCESSWIRE / June 10, 2024 / Steel City Impact, a prominent Greater Pittsburgh non-profit youth initiative founded by Simon Arias and his fellow board members in 2020, hosted its Annual Celebrity Athlete Cigar Bar Event at BURN by Rocky Patel on April 26, 2024.

The event celebrated a successful year of community support and outreach, provided an evening of entertainment and networking, and significantly contributed to resources for the initiative's goal of nurturing young minds in the Greater Pittsburgh area.

Funds raised during the event will support the continuation and expansion of Steel City Impact's future initiatives and critical services, including tutoring, academic enrichment, recreational activities, monthly field trips, visits from guest speakers, family events, and community service days for students.

"We are immensely grateful for the support of our guests and sponsors. Their generosity will help us to mold future leaders who are confident and capable of navigating the challenges of tomorrow," said Arias.

The Celebrity Athlete Cigar Bar Event was marked by the distinguished presence of the 2024 Guest of Honor, Steelers legendary linebacker James Harrison, a 2-time Super Bowl Champion, 5-time Pro Bowler and 2023 inductee of the Steelers Hall of Honor. Harrison's involvement underscores his ongoing commitment to youth development and the power of positive role models.

Reflecting on the event, Arias shared: "Seeing our community come together to support young people is truly inspiring. It's a testament to what we can accomplish when we unite for a common purpose. Each contribution translates directly into resources that empower our young participants. We will continue to set the stage for their future success, one child at a time."

Steel City Impact, led by Executive Director Tyra Grant, serves youth in the Sto-Rox School District through comprehensive programming, with the goal of providing children with the tools they need to explore and learn more about their passions in a safe and encouraging environment. Simon Arias and his board members started Steel City Impact with the vision to continue to create and build programs that shape young lives and equip young people with the tools necessary to positively impact their communities for generations to come.

Simon Arias reflected on his own childhood as motivation in creating Steel City Impact, as he lacked mentorship and strong role models during his youth. Arias' mission is to introduce Pittsburgh youth to business leaders, particularly those with entrepreneurial mindsets to act as mentors who can encourage positive habits and skill development for long-term success.

Steel City Impact continues to empower the youth of Pittsburgh, fostering an environment where they can grow and thrive mentally, physically, and spiritually.
