Facility provides comfort, allows families to focus on well-being and community

 N. WILKESBORO, NC / ACCESSWIRE / October 18, 2023 / Window World®, America's largest replacement window and exterior remodeling company, proudly announces the unveiling of the Window World Dining Room as a part of The Domino's Village, the newest housing at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®. This contribution is part of Window World's continuous commitment to nurturing hope and well-being among families whose children are diagnosed with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

"The Window World Dining Room will serve as a place of nourishment and fellowship for the incredible families of St. Jude, who come from near and far seeking healing for their children," said Tammy Whitworth, Chairman and CEO of Window World. "It is a small way for us to give back to the families who inspire us every day with their strength and resilience."

The Window World Dining Room is situated within the new short and long-term housing facility at The Domino's Village. The facility allows patients and families to stay for free when treatment requires an overnight stay or families are traveling more than 35 miles to the hospital. The dining room also features a unique drop-down movie screen, a first in a patient housing facility operated by St. Jude Food Services.

"Over the past 15 years, the persistence of the Window World Cares Foundation to make an impact on the St. Jude mission has been truly extraordinary," said Richard C. Shadyac Jr., president and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude. "The heart of any home is a kitchen table and we extend our deepest gratitude to Window World for providing a space for families to do that while undergoing a difficult time."

Window World is thrilled to continue its partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, pushing forward in the shared mission to cure childhood cancer and provide a comforting environment for the affected families. Since 2008, through the Window World Cares Foundation, more than $16 million has been raised for St. Jude, highlighting a powerful alliance in the battle against childhood cancer.

"There are several published articles about outcomes in pediatric cancer patients being very different at different institutions, and sometimes patients getting the exact same medicines here do better than other places, and that's because they get more than just medicine here, and that's because of things like [The Window World Dining Room]," said Dr. Maggie Cupit-Link, MD, former St. Jude patient and current clinical hematology/oncology fellow at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
