Boustead & MERJ agreement brings Upstream to U.S. investors

IRVINE, CA and EDEN ISLAND, SEYCHELLES / ACCESSWIRE / May 18, 2023 / Boustead Securities, a leading full-service investment banking firm and licensed FINRA member, has opened registration for U.S. investors to trade stocks on Upstream's global retail trading app, in partnership with MERJ Exchange Limited (MERJ). U.S. investors that wish to trade securities on Upstream may now register with Boustead Securities at https://www.boustead1828.com/upstream.

Through this collaboration, Boustead's customers gain access to Upstream's global retail trading app and dual-listed companies that trade on NASDAQ, NYSE and over-the-counter (OTC) markets as well as international stock exchanges including EURONEXT, ASX, NSX, TSX, and CSE. The blockchain-powered platform features a transparent orderbook, real-time execution, and 20-hour market days. Manipulative activities like short selling, stock lending, wash trading, layering, spoofing, or payment for order flow, which negatively impact legitimate price discovery, are not permitted.

Inter-exchange arbitrage trading for dual listed securities is streamlined on Upstream, enabling traders to buy shares on the U.S. market and deposit them on Upstream for secondary sale, or vice versa. Investors can trade U.S. and international equities using digital payment rails, credit card, debit card, PayPal, or USD.

After registering with Boustead, U.S. investors may use the Upstream app to sign up with a password and complete KYC identity verification. Once KYC is approved, tap Investor, Manage Securities, and Activate Securities Trading. Once verified by Boustead, investors will be notified in-app and may begin trading listed securities, and deposit eligible securities that they may hold at U.S. brokerage firms and transfer agents.

"We are thrilled to partner with MERJ and Upstream to provide our clients with access to a cutting-edge trading platform that offers next level transparency, security, and efficiency," said Keith Moore, CEO of Boustead Securities. "We believe this collaboration represents a significant step forward in democratizing access to global markets and empowering investors with the tools they need to succeed."

"We are excited to have Boustead, a leader in small cap underwritings and offerings, to become the first U.S. introducing broker to join our community," commented Brian Collins, Co-founder of Upstream. "Boustead will now have alternative and dual listing venues available for Boustead's issuers and for their customers to trade on a modern retail trading venue."
