UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESSWIRE / September 11, 2024 / Marquis Who's Who has inducted Linda Stone into its registry for her dual careers in floristry and writing. Ms. Stone's dedication and passion for her work have positively impacted her community.
For some, the certainty of following a particular career path without deviation provides a sense of comfort and security necessary to lead a good life. Others, like florist and children's book author Ms. Stone, however, walk through life differently, finding guidance as they go and taking risk after risk to carve out their own path.
Finding Purpose in Flexibility
Ms. Stone owns and operates the floral store City Flowers & Gifts in New Buffalo, Michigan. Having run the store for 25 years, one might think she always planned on getting into the business, but that was far from the case.
Ms. Stone's journey in the floral industry began when she visited a floral school and ended up attending after an unplanned opening became available. She feels that her fate was ordained by God, who led her down that road, which eventually resulted in her enrollment in the American Floral Art School in Chicago.
Today, City Flowers & Gifts is known for its distinctive floral designs and personalized service, as well as its role in community engagement. The business currently provides support for various local and national causes, such as the American Red Cross and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Under Ms. Stone's leadership, City of Flowers & Gifts continues to expand its offerings, maintaining its reputation for excellence and its connection to the community.
Before her ventures in the floral industry, Ms. Stone successfully owned and managed a bakery with the help of her brother despite not having any experience going into the business. Though there were occasional setbacks, Ms. Stone excelled in learning and adapting to any challenges she encountered along the way. She states she owes her perseverance to her skills in attentiveness to the guidance of the divine, letting go of her uncertainties in the process.
Authoring Books from Dreams
According to Ms. Stone, the idea of her first book,"Bubbles' Troubles,"came to her in a dream. She felt she was being called away from her position as a florist and toward a new role as a writer, which she initially felt unsure of. "I had no idea how to write a book," Ms. Stone explains, "I just said, ‘Okay, God. I need to write this book because You told me. I was supposed to do this, so You have to help me.'"
"Bubbles' Troubles," as well as her other books "Teddy's Spaghetti" and upcoming work "Home is the Very Best Place to Be," are homages to Ms. Stone's passion for supporting animal shelters. The books are designed to raise awareness and funds for the welfare of shelter animals.
Ms. Stone's work has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated, fortunately, as she was recently recognized in Marquis Who's Who® and the New Buffalo Times, highlighting her contributions to her community and her work as a children's book author.
