  • Enhanced IPAM Model: Introduces namespaces for use cases such as M&A, fostering a more flexible approach to IP address management.
  • Unified Location Model: Facilitates user-defined location hierarchies allowing users across verticals to define location types of their choices from Campuses and Branches to Data Centers and Edge Locations.
  • Data Import/Export Refinements: Standardized field names and enhanced file accessibility, including allowing Nautobot Jobs to generate files that can be downloaded from the UI or API.
  • Generic Role Model: A generic role model supersedes previous models, streamlining role association across various content types simplifying overall user experience.
  • UI Refresh: Offers a modern look and improved UX ensuring users can quickly and intuitively navigate the UI.
  • External Integration Model: Adds the ability to store data, such as URLs and credentials, for third-party Nautobot integrations to streamline building automated workflows with third-party network tools and products.

The Nautobot App Ecosystem saw incredible growth and adoption, including the release of the new Floor Plan app supporting data center device mapping and inventory lifecycle management, and a major update to Network to Code's flagship application, Golden Configuration. The Golden Config app is instrumental in standardizing network environments and addressing configuration drift, and the latest update includes:

  • Configuration Remediation: Dynamic methods for generating the required remediation commands to bring a device into a compliant state that can be deployed from Nautobot or other Infrastructure as Code methods.
  • Configuration Plans: Governance-driven configuration plans to ensure config sets follow established processes, are reviewed, and approved before deployment.
  • Configuration Deployment: Automated deployment mechanisms powered by the Nornir Python-based framework for last-mile communication to the devices.
