Industry luminaries join panel discussions and fireside chats at signature global event sponsored by Polyhedra and NodeReal

TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / July 18, 2023 / MetisFest made its triumphant return this week, bringing the signature global event of the MetisDAO Foundation to Paris as part of EthCC Week. More than 1,000 attendees joined community and industry leaders for an unforgettable evening of education, fun, and creating memories.

The event centered around ZKM, an open-source, chain-agnostic zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) solution which recently launched out of incubation from the MetisDAO Foundation. The launch and accompanying whitepaper details the framework for making Ethereum the universal settlement layer for all blockchain and non-blockchain applications.

Co-sponsored by Polyhedra and NodeReal, MetisFest featured a variety of fireside chats and discussion panels with some of the most prominent names in DeFi, who shared their thoughts and insights about what the rise of Zero Knowledge means for the future development of blockchain technology.

The first panel, From Theory to Reality: Harnessing the Power of ZKPs in the Real World, included a wide-ranging discussion of zero-knowledge proofs. Moderated by Brennan Schlueter, Head of Marketing at Aleo, the panel discussion centered around the advantages of adopting zero-knowledge proofs, potential cross-industry use cases, and how ZKPs improve privacy and data security in blockchain transactions. Participants included Jeroen van de Graaf, Senior Research Advisor at ZKM; Daniel Lumi, Independent Researcher and Consultant on zero-knowledge, L2 technology, DAOs, and Privacy; and Ben Livshits, VP of Research at Matter Labs.

Next up was a fireside chat, Security and Decentralized Finance, moderated by independent advisor Kila. For this discussion, industry leaders and experts took a deep dive into the evolution of DeFi and its significant growth and potential for the future of finance. Participants discussed a broad range of topics, including the recent cross-chain bridge incident the industry witnessed, emphasizing the importance of enhanced security measures to prevent attacks. Fireside chat participants included Charles Guillemet, CTO of Ledger; Jimmy Zhao, Senior Solution Architect at NodeReal; and Ming Guo, Chief Scientist and Co-Founder of ZKM.

ZKM's first use case is a hybrid rollup solution, combining the optimistic rollup and zero-knowledge rollup into a single cohesive infrastructure layer. This broadens the applications for ZK products, strategically leveraging MIPS architecture to optimize existing L2 networks (Optimism, Arbitrum, Metic, etc.). The hybrid solution will then expand to be future-compatible with all of the alternative L1s, including BNB, Solana, Fantom, Avalanche, Celo, etc.). In its next phase, ZKM will be offering its architecture layer to optimize non-blockchain systems, such as Internet of Things (IoT), ZKML (Zero-Knowledge Machine Learning) and cloud computing. ZKM's launch on the Ethereum Testnet is scheduled for January 2024.

"We were delighted to host the new edition of our signature Metis Fest to meet with the community and celebrate the launch of the new EcoNode - ZKM. Such grand events as EthCC present a perfect opportunity for facilitating knowledge exchange, business networking and meeting community members who are the backbone of any crypto project", said Tom Ngo, Executive Lead of Metis.
