TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / June 15, 2023 / Ginkgo Mortgage Investment Corporation ("Ginkgo") is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors declared a special dividend of 2.5 cents per share (0.25%) payable on June 30, 2023, to all Class "A" participating preference shareholders of record as of December 31, 2022.

In addition, the Board revised its annual dividend rate targets for the 2023 calendar year in response to the recent interest rate hikes initiated by the Bank of Canada. Effective May 31, 2023, the annual dividend rate target was increased for Class "A" Participating Preference Shares, Series 1 ("Series 1 Preference Shares") from 9.25% to 9.75% and for Class "A" Participating Preference Shares, Series 2 from 8.50% to 9.00%.

This development marks Ginkgo's first increase in annual dividend rate targets for the current 2023 calendar year. During the 2022 calendar year, Ginkgo raised its annual dividend rate target three times - increasing the target for Series 1 Preferred Shares from 8.00% to 9.25% and for Series 2 Preferred Shares from 7.00% to 8.50%. Also, on October 20, 2022, Ginkgo announced a 5 cents per share (0.50%) special dividend on all Class "A" participating preference shares payable to shareholders of record as of December 31, 2021.

The revised targets for the 2023 calendar year and the special dividend can be attributed to Ginkgo's adaptability and flexibility in promptly responding to increased interest rates by the Bank of Canada. With meticulous risk assessments and comprehensive contingency planning, Ginkgo remains steadfast in its commitment to offering a dependable investment opportunity to its shareholders.
