Eszylfie Taylor, president and founder of Taylor Insurance and Financial Services, kicked off the event by outlining financial services available for high-net-worth healthcare professionals, business owners, and families. The panel continued with strategic discussions on executive skill set capitalization and securing investor financing with facial plastics and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Carl M. Truesdale and Dr. Clarence Lee, President and CEO of Exhort Health. The event was sponsored by Prospect Capital, Taylor Insurance and Financial Services, the Black Excellence Society (formerly For(bes) the Culture), and Young, Bold, and Regal Media. It also raised capital for CBMP's scholarship campaign, aimed at increasing the number of Black males entering and completing medical education. CBMP has been unyielding in their mission to expose health inequities in society and medicine, and this event provided a platform for community and brotherhood amongst Black males at every stage of medical training.

"Overall, the ‘Securing the Bag' event was a huge success in bringing together healthcare professionals, sponsors, and community stakeholders to discuss important topics and raise funds for a worthy cause'" stated a spokesperson for CBMP. "The CBMP is determined to continue this work and increase the number of Black men in medicine, addressing the need for more diverse representation in the healthcare workforce. "

CBMP is dedicated to cultivating a platform for Black male medical trainees to access support from those who share a like-minded goal that recognizes the importance of direct intervention. With over 40 years of attempts to mitigate health disparities in Black communities, the issue of training culturally competent Black male physicians capable of transforming health in medically underserved communities has intensified. Many organizations have identified the underlying causes underpinning the phenomenon of the under-representation of Black men in medicine and concluded that direct intervention is needed. CBMP is committed to this cause and is taking proactive steps to address this issue.
