"The Day The Music Died: The Story of Don McLean's American Pie" Nominated for 2023 MTV Movie & TV Award with Kirt Webster As Co-Executive Producer

Thursday, 27 April 2023 08:00 AM

The award-winning entertainment consultant, manager, and producer sat down to discuss his life, his career, and his professional philosophy.

PHOENIX, AZ / ACCESSWIRE / April 27, 2023 / It is with great enthusiasm that Kirt Webster, a producer, project manager, consultant, and 25 plus year veteran of the entertainment industry based out of Nashville, Tennessee, announces that the Paramount+ documentary "The Day The Music Died: The Story of Don McLean's American Pie," for which Webster served as the co-executive producer along with Ray De La Garza is nominated for an MTV Movie & TV award. Webster recently interviewed for a new, in-depth look at his career with an online periodical that concentrates on matters relating to business, technology, and thought leadership. The interview was published on April 5, 2023.

"This documentary was the brainchild of Ray De La Garza and music visionary Spencer Proffer," says Kirt Webster. "They came to me and one thing led to another and the deal was done. It took around 18 months for Spencer to get it exactly right, but he sure did and now this nomination is further proof of Proffer's genius in putting these documentaries together."

In addition to this nomination, Webster is highlighted in the recent career article and was asked what inspired him to transition into a project management and consulting role after spending so many years as a successful marketing and public relations official. "Having worked as a marketing and PR executive for 25 plus years, I saw every great manager and every bad manager do their job. When I say good manager versus bad manager, what I mean is that some are proactive and some are reactive. Some are forward-thinking, and some put up roadblocks. Everybody has a different style in the way they work, and I was able to sit back and observe all those styles and see which ones worked," he replies, adding, "When I decided to launch into project management and consulting, I took the knowledge that I had gained from working with other companies, then asked myself what the best style and approach was to accomplish things."

Further along in the interview, Kirt Webster addresses a question about the most valuable lesson he has learned over the course of his long and distinguished career. "Always be truthful. I've always been honest, whether people like it or not. My reasoning is that there's no point being dishonest, deceptive, or evasive because the truth always comes out anyway. Although sometimes people might doubt the truth, eventually they realize what's real and what's not."
