In March 2021, Dominion Voting Systems ("Dominion"), which sells electronic voting hardware and software that was widely used in the 2020 presidential election, filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox. The lawsuit alleges that Fox employees - including high-profile news anchors and talk show hosts - knowingly and publicly parroted false claims that, among other things, Dominion had secretly switched millions of votes in the 2020 presidential election from Donald Trump to Joe Biden, thus altering the outcome of the election. Recent court filings in the Dominion litigation reveal that Fox's Board permitted and/or encouraged Fox employees to air claims that Dominion had doctored the vote against Trump while knowing that such claims were untrue.
