Dr. David Baker-Hargrove is a licensed mental health counselor located in Orlando, Florida who has been providing mental health services to the LGBTQ+ community, including trans-specific healthcare for over 25 years. A fully licensed mental health counselor in the State of Florida, ve holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Barry University 2002, and has been providing ver services to clients since 1995. Ve also has a background in corporate accounting.
Since 1999, Dr. Baker-Hargrove has served on numerous funding opportunity review committees for both the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). In the past, ve has served as an American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Responder during crisis events. In this capacity, David worked at the World Trade Center's Ground Zero following the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001. Ve also spearheaded the response effort for the Pulse Nightclub Massacre in June 2016, mobilizing over 650 volunteer counselors to provide nearly one thousand mental health sessions between June 12th and July 4th of that year.
