SUNNYVALE, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 28, 2023 / In response to explosive growth of its partner network, DataStream Cyber Insurance has expanded its channel leadership team, appointing Desraie Thomas Senior Channel Development Manager. In this newly created position, Thomas will help managed service providers (MSPs) educate their small-to-midsize business (SMB) customers about the importance of using advanced cybersecurity technologies - and why failing to do so could render their businesses uninsurable.
As the sophistication and frequency of attacks on SMBs continues to accelerate, the recognition and role of cyber insurance is taking center stage in the technology and cyber security ecosystem. In response, managed services providers are turning to DataStream for insight and support. Last year DataStream's partner network surged by more than 400%.
"DataStream's channel leadership team is positioning our vast network of hundreds of MSPs to protect their clients from disastrous cyberattacks," said Desraie Thomas, DataStream Senior Channel Development Manager. "We're a tight-knit group of dedicated people who go to great lengths to support those in the channel. Cyber insurance is designed to help protect SMBs from going under after a data breach - but business owners should be proactive in finding the cracks in their cyber defense in order to prevent criminals from slipping through."
To help optimize their clients' cybersecurity, DataStream provides MSPs with a comprehensive cyber insurance risk assessment and a cyber audit tool to identify current and future cyber weaknesses. MSPs also have access to an incident response plan builder tool to help develop an action plan in the event of a breach.
DataStream specializes in securing policies that protect SMBs - including MSPs, MSSPs and other IT consultants - from first-and third-party losses. The provider's cyber liability coverage prepares customers pre-incident by assessing their overall cybersecurity position, giving guidance on risk mitigation and providing up-to-date metric analyses on cyber vulnerability. In the event of a breach, the company coordinates a fast and effective response with the client, the carrier and its network of experienced on-call responders. Post-incident coverage can include threat response and remediation-including legal fees, tracing, IT forensics, crisis media relations and necessary support for regulators and authorities.
"Desraie's experience and proven track record demonstrates her success in the channel," said DataStream CEO Andy Anderson. "Her connections in the regions we have marked for expansion, along with the well-established partner and client relationships she has formed throughout her career made her the ideal person for the role."
Thomas previously worked at Datto as Channel Development Manager, where she managed the Marketing and Development Funds (MDF) for North America. In this role, she approved and oversaw over 300 events and campaigns each year. Thomas also spent time as Partner Development Manager at Passportal, presenting at many industry events and educating partners on Passportal's password security and documentation products. Thomas was named on CRN's 2021 Women of the Channel list and volunteered for three years in CompTIA's MSP community. She is also a co-chair of CompTIA's Women in Technology community.
