Thursday, 12 January 2023 08:00 AM

In a new essay, the retired insurance executive and creator of several successful businesses gives a comprehensive overview of how ordinary people can best help their local charities.

TAMPA, FL / ACCESSWIRE / January 12, 2023 / When retired insurance executive and founder of multiple successful companies Michael Kosloske was approached about providing his consulting services on a new article outlining how ordinary people can contribute to the humanitarian and nonprofit organizations in their communities, he agreed enthusiastically, eager to share his expertise on the topic. The article, which is titled Michael Kosloske Explains the Best Way to Help Local Charities, was published by an online periodical that concentrates on matters relating to education, growth opportunities, and the exchange of new ideas, was published on October 13, 2022.

At the outset of the piece, Michael writes that the one thing humanitarian and nonprofit organizations need most are operating funds, and emphasizes the importance of donations, whether it be money or old belongings that can be repurposed or sold. "Many charities rely on donations to help fund their work. You can make a one-time donation or set up a recurring donation. You can also donate goods like clothes, food, and toys. You can contact the charity directly or visit their website to donate money. To donate goods, you can get your local Salvation Army or Goodwill."

Later in the article, the retired insurance executive and creator of several successful businesses extols the virtues of people donating their effort, creativity, and labor, in lieu of money to local charitable organizations. "Another way to support charitable events is to volunteer your time," he states, before elaborating, "This could involve helping to set up or clean up before and after the event, operating a booth, or providing transportation for participants."

Finally, Michael Kosloske explains that one of the most helpful things people can do for the charities operating in their communities is to host events meant to raise both funds and awareness, writing, "This could be a bake sale, car wash, or any other event where people can donate money. You can also hold an online fundraiser by setting up a page on a crowdfunding website like GoFundMe. To have a successful fundraiser, you'll need to promote it well and ensure that people know what the money will be used for," he states, adding, "You should also set up a booth at the event so that people can learn more about the charity and what they do."

Reached for comment, Michael Kosloske issued the following statement: "It was my great pleasure to consult on the writing of this article. I can only hope that those who read it come away better informed about how to assist the worthy humanitarian and nonprofit organizations that are so very much in need of aid in the current economic climate."

About Michael Kosloske:

Michael Kosloske is originally from Rockford, Illinois. He attended Florida State University, graduating with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance in 1986. Although currently retired, Michael was the Founder of one of the premier health insurance companies in the industry, Health Insurance Innovations.

Having been born into a family that had been leaders in the industry for years, Michael developed an affinity for health insurance, and he felt that pursuing a career in that realm was a natural fit. Before entering into the industry himself, he had already devised a strategy to create a scalable online platform to bring health insurance consumers, agents, and carriers together to facilitate much more efficient transactions.

In 1987, he accepted the role of President of Health Plan Administrators, a third-generation family business. In 1998, Michael purchased 100% of that company, immediately shifting its focus to fully insured niche individual health insurance sold online. Over the next few years, he developed more than 20 health insurance blocks insured by many carriers and ranked in the top ten across the globe. In 2003, Michael founded Health Plan Intermediaries, LLC. In 2005, he sold Health Plan Administrators to Independence Holding Co., whereupon he became the Divisional President until 2007.

In 2008, he founded Health Plan Intermediaries, LLC, which conducted business under the name Health Insurance Innovations, LLC. That company merged with Naylor Group Partners in 2008. A scant three years later, Michael Kosloske purchased the Naylor Group Partner ownership portion of Health Insurance Innovations, emerging as the sole share owner.
