Tuesday, 13 December 2022 08:15 AM

VADUZ, LIECHTENSTEIN / ACCESSWIRE / December 13, 2022 / Lepton Charity, a non-profit foundation headquartered in Lichtenstein, is announcing the launch of the Lepton Camino Program that will fund the installation of electric vehicle charging stations on the road of Santiago de Compostella. This program will support the use and uptake of electric vehicles within the NZ charitable sector. Since the installation of these EV charging stations can only be completed by someone with special qualifications, the project will require that installations are only carried out by Lepton's regional installation partners.

"We are so excited to announce the launch of this project, as we are certain that it will have a positive impact on the decarbonization of the environment," stated a spokesperson for Lepton Charity. "As world citizens, we face a common challenge of dealing with global warming and having to find sustainable energy resources. With the Lepton Camino Program, we are paving sustainable roads towards a better future."

Recently, the road of Santiago de Compostella has seen an annual 10% increase in the use of electric vehicles. With the recent government announcement that the sale of new petrol and diesel cars is being banned in 2030, many vehicle owners are turning to electric vehicles as a form of transportation that can minimize their carbon footprint. The Lepton Camino Program will enable zero-emission travel and accelerate EV infrastructure growth by offering more electric vehicle charging stations on the road of Santiago de Compostella.

Lepton Camino's starting point is in Menton. It goes through la Trinité, Théole-sur-Mer, Fréjus, Lorgues, le Thoronet, Saint Maximin, Plan d'Aups, Aix-en-Provence, Salon-de-Provence, Arles, St Gilles, Toulouse, Lourdes, and Santiago de Compostela. The Lepton Camino Project's aim consists in donating free charging stations to businesses or organizations in the hotel, tourist, or leisure industry in every location of Lepton Camino.

We invite you to join us on a sustainable road. If you want to be a part of Lepton Camino, please read all the details of the project, and confirm that you are happy to become the owner and maintainer of the Charging Station for the benefit of EV-driving visitors to your location. Charging Stations are offered on a first come first serve basis.

This project will principally benefit Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, local communities, management groups safeguarding natural and cultural assets, and businesses on the pilgrim routes of Santiago de Compostella.
