NORTHAMPTON, MA / ACCESSWIRE / October 31, 2022 / At Ericsson, we believe access to the internet is vital to fully participate in the digital economy and society. We are demonstrating our commitment by working to positively impact 1 million children and youth by 2025 through providing access to digital learning and skill development programs.

And we are making concrete progress through our digital education program, Connect To Learn, which provides access to digital connectivity, tools, and skills to teachers, students, and schools. Since the start in 2010, we have helped more than 300,00 children and young people across 30 countries to access learning opportunities.

Today's learning crisis, highlighted this week at the UNGA77, is a global challenge that requires action now, and one important step is increasing access to school connectivity and related teacher and student upskilling. No entity can solve this problem alone. That's why we're also championing the role of partnerships to scale access to education and digital skills.

This work is reflected in our commitment to Partner2Connect and the World Economic Forum EDISON Alliance 1 Billion Lives Challenge, which is a global movement to catalyze multi-stakeholder digital inclusion initiatives that support education, financial inclusion and healthcare.

This builds on our existing work with UNICEF and International Telecommunication Union in the Giga initiative, which aims to connect every school in the world to the internet by 2030.

There is still much more to be done to help bridge the digital divide. That's why we call on partners, customers, governments, and NGOs to be part of the coalition needed to make a real and lasting change.
