A selection of Hollywood VFX heavyweights fronting Sins of Shadow - an extensive cinematic NFT metaverse created by Sombra will utilize Polygon's scaling solutions to mint various features of the SINS universe

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / April 28, 2022 / Sombra - the first Web 3.0 Hollywood VFX studio and its flagship project Sins - a non-fungible token (NFT), play-to-earn cinematic universe, has announced that they will be integrating with Polygon, an Ethereum scaling platform onboarding millions to Web3. Sombra will also benefit from the expertise of Polygon Studios, an organization onboarding projects, brands, artists, and content creators to Web3 through investment, marketing, developer, and community support.

While initially launching on Ethereum, Sombra has decided to integrate with the carbon-neutral Polygon network as a low fee, sustainable base of operations to build out the Sins of Shadow ecosystem.

Sombra will join an established list of blue-chip gaming and NFT dApps already operating on Polygon, including OpenSea, Upshot, Aavegotchi, Zed Run, Horizon Games' Skyweaver, Decentraland, Megacryptopolis, Neon District, Cometh, and Decentral.

Sins of Shadow, launched back in January 2022 and led by Sombra, features a VR NFT TV show and a P2E open-world game. The platform will be airdropping 7,777 2D genetic-generated avatar cards hand-drawn by the Sombra team, which will act as the users' key for entering the SINS world. After minting each PFP, users will also get to choose a name and backstory for their avatar that will create a truly immersive experience. The platform also plans to introducerewards and prizes for ownership and participation.

The newly released project aspires to change the way in which communities interact with video games and television storytelling through the ability to engage with the narrative in an unprecedented way. Aiming to achieve this through a phased approach, the first phase involves the release of NFT avatars, with active involvement in the project's narrative in the pipeline.

Every owner of a SINS NFT will have the ability to actively contribute to the narrative development based upon their own opinions and actions in a ‘good faith system', whereby if a user behaves badly in the game, this will be reflected in the storyline.

Sombra is a bespoke NFT, VFX, and design Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) specializing in content creation, decentralized app (dApp) building, and bringing Hollywood grade VFX to Web3. Sombra is the brainchild of some of Hollywood's most accomplished VFX studio partners. Some of the project's heavyweights include founder Brendan O'Neil - who is also the founder of an award-winning VFX studio in NYC - Bonfire VFX, with former clients such as the NFL, Pepsi, Beyonce, and Samsung. Demian Gordon, another Sombra partner, is a multi-patent holder of many mocap technologies and pioneered films such as The Matrix, Spiderman, Polar Express, and more; he has also led game teams behind projects like Resident Evil and God of War.

Brendan O'Neil, founder of Sombra and Sins of Shadow, said: "To be able to utilize the scaling capabilities available on Polygon will really allow us to take our platform to the next level. The projects planned for release in the future will be enhanced by this partnership with Polygon and allow millions of users to access our cinematic NFT and VR experiences."

Brian Trunzo, metaverse lead at Polygon, said: "We are delighted to welcome Sombra and SINS onto the Polygon chain. Our frictionless, fast, and ultra-low fee platform will provide Sombra and Sins of Shadow with all of the necessary tools to bring more users to the platform. The quality of talent behind the project promises to create a big impact in the rapidly burgeoning Web3 gaming sector."

Sins of Shadow aims to drop a cinematic masterpiece that can be experienced as an NFT video or as a VR experience in the near future. With planned airdrops on Polygon, this will allow for more users to access the platform.

377 Genesis NFTs will be available May 4th. Another 5000 will come on May 21st.
