Company Founder Believes Immersive Commerce Can Lead The Way

PORTLAND, OR / ACCESSWIRE / February 7, 2022 / The Metaverse is coming, and it promises to be far more immersive, interactive, and collaborative than the Internet. NFTs, AR (augmented reality), VR (virtual reality), cryptocurrency, and blockchain are all parts of what will become the Metaverse.

E-commerce brands must evolve to thrive and compete within the Metaverse. Dedrick Boyd, founder of TechSparq says, "The era of flat, one-dimensional E-commerce is over. The industry must undergo a metamorphosis of customer engagement via interactivity. Customers want more detail; they want to be immersed and to be better connected with brands."

TechSparq says while NFT's are all the rage, they may not be the best choice for lifestyle brands. The global race to develop NFTs has lured many brands into a no-win race. Boyd says, "current NFTs do not drive demand for physical products. And the process is not integrated into the customer journey. NFTs can be a new revenue stream if a brand has a cult following. Most companies are better served in improving the buying journey with existing technology. Lifestyle brands can make solid steps into the Metaverse by abstracting away the technical detail and simply allowing people to interact, shop, try, and have fun in 3d."

TechSparq says lifestyle brands must show a concerted effort toward sustainability and personalization to reach Gen-Z and Millennials customers. Boyd says, "Immersive Commerce with both physical and digital products, phygital, is the immediate bridge solution."

Immersive Commerce delivers a luxury experience and results in a long-reaching return on investment. Salesforce research shows that 80% of consumers say that the experience of buying is as or is more important than the product purchased.

According to Digital Commerce 360, retailers who deploy 3D and AR assets to their e-commerce sites see more than 50% conversion gains and a 25% lift in average order size. A recent Harris Poll reveals that 60% of shoppers want to see products online in 3D and AR. And they are willing to pay 20% to get it.

Research from The New York Daily News indicates that 64% of adults spend more money when shopping with friends. Boyd says, "what if we could create online stores that invited people into a 3D experience? An environment where they could interact with their friends and brand ambassadors alike? The immediate desire of consumers is a social escape with friends."

TechSparq is excited about the future and the possibilities the Immersive Commerce and Metaverse hold for lifestyle brands. Boyd says, "The Metaverse and immersive commerce will create stronger brand followings for those who get it right."
