The Florida-based entrepreneur has started several businesses, created Bollywood films, and is currently the CEO and Chairman of Ducon Technologies. In recent comments, Aron Govil explained why his humble start helped catapult his career to the top.
At the age of 13, Aron Govil came to the US from India and has been a passionate citizen since. His success was formed as he built from the ground up. His success is a testament to what can be accomplished when someone pushes forward, undeterred by hurdles along the way. According to the business leader, this humility has been a crucial part of his success.
"When you build something massive that impacts the world, it's easy to start centering the world around yourself," he notes. "Business leaders have to be unpretentious and down-to-earth. Not only do you need to stay on the same level as your employees, but a sense of humility helps keep the success from getting to your head. When you work so hard for something, your ego can swell quickly."
His path to success has come with a multi-faceted approach. "I have worked in the technology, manufacturing, engineering, entertainment and finance industry," Aron Govil explains. "I have built several successful businesses around the globe, and I am continuing to grow both personally and professionally. In addition, people say that I am a highly collaborative executive who can build relationships across culture and with all levels of management within brands, regions, and functions."
The entrepreneur says humility is what keeps the successful business leader hungry for more. "When you see the picture is much bigger than yourself, you experience a drive to keep pushing," he says. "It becomes about making the world a better place and building a legacy for future generations. You have to have a clear goal that goes beyond wealth and success. When you start at the bottom, you have a much clearer picture of where things need to change."
Aron Govil was named one of the top 25 Global Indians Transforming the World in 2016. In 2013, he was named Person of the Year by Global Indian Magazine. In 2007, he was awarded the Excellence Award by the USPAACC for outstanding achievements in business and entrepreneurship.
His company Ducon Technologies offers custom engineering and construction solutions for clients in a wide range of industries. The company handled over $480 million in annual turnover in 2013 with an employed workforce of around 550. Ducon works with chemical, cement, power, steel, infrastructure, and mining companies, among many others. The global firm holds over 30 technology patents and has successfully completed more than 30,000 projects annually.
