Wing Zone Founder will lead Franchisor Incubator in helping successful business owners scale through Franchising
MIAMI, FL / ACCESSWIRE / October 27, 2021 / Matt Friedman has been named the CEO of Franchise Founders.
Friedman founded Wing Zone in his fraternity house kitchen in 1993 and grew it into a global franchise. He sold a majority interest in Wing Zone in late 2020 and now serves on the Board of Directors for Wing Zone.
As the CEO at Franchise Founders, Friedman brings years of franchising knowledge and experience as a founder himself, and he is uniquely situated to take the company to the next level.
Franchise Founders, which has already invested in six successful businesses, is perfectly positioned to be a leader as a franchise incubator.
"I've been an entrepreneur for 28 years and growing a franchise organization for the past 20 years. When you have that sort of experience, when you're hands-on in every facet of the business, you learn what mistakes not to make, you learn the right selection process for franchisees, you learn which people you need to put on your team and you learn how to grow strategically. It's really about utilizing every good decision you've made and every bad decision you've made and making sure you use those good decisions moving forward with new franchise companies," Friedman said.
His entrepreneurial journey began in 1993 when he and a college friend pulled together $500 and started serving up authentic Buffalo-style wings to hungry University of Florida students every night from their fraternity house kitchen. A year later, they opened their first Wing Zone storefront steps away from campus. Over the next 25 years, as CEO of Wing Zone, Friedman grew the franchise to more than 150 locations in the U.S. and six countries.
Friedman's expertise and leadership in strategic planning, marketing and franchise development attracted the attention of the Franchise Founders Board of Directors, who were looking for a dynamic leader with a proven track record to shape the company's future.
Franchise Founders' mission is to help small business owners grow through franchising by providing them with comprehensive support, capital, subject matter expertise and access to a team of people who genuinely care about creating strategic and responsible franchise growth.
"Franchise Founders invests our own capital into each franchise company, so we are an equity owner in each business moving forward," Friedman noted. "A lot of young entrepreneurs that want to franchise don't have a roadmap for success. They don't know when to add the right people and how many units they need to have before they can really add those key people."
"At Franchise Founders, we already have a seasoned team in-house to handle startup franchise companies. We have the experts they need to assist them with legal, operations, marketing, franchise sales and more, so we can help them grow to the next level. Since we're equity partners, we are literally invested in their success."
