KUNMING, CHINA / ACCESSWIRE / October 21, 2021 / This October the Part one of the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP-15) took place in Kunming, China, attracting 2918 on-site and 2478 online participants. The primary goal was set on the adoption of an effective post-2020 global biodiversity framework at the resumption of the meeting in spring 2022.

The UN Biodiversity Conference was opened by Chinese President Xi Jinping announcing the 1.5 billion yuan (about $233 million) Kunming Biodiversity Fund. A High-Level Segment of the Meeting adopted the Kunming Declaration, which commits countries to negotiate an effective post-2020 global biodiversity framework that will be agreed on in 2022.
