HOOVER, AL / ACCESSWIRE / July 22, 2021 / Picture this...It is a quiet morning, as you sit drinking coffee, watching the world come alive from the deck of your boat, or the comfy chair on your porch, the fresh breeze off the water of a gorgeous lake, life is good. On another day it is a lively afternoon, filled with grandchildren, family, laughter, fishing, sunshine, all that is good in life. For Texas-based Lake LBJ real estate broker Bruce Jones, the lake lifestyle is more than just a state of mind or temporary fix. Jones is dedicated to living the lake lifestyle himself, and he works with others to help make their dream of living by the lake a reality. His motto represents his love of the lake lifestyle perfectly,
"I live here, work here, and play here."
Jones has a passion for helping people make memories, and live the life they want, in the location they want. With a lifelong love of the lake lifestyle, he fondly remembers the days of his childhood, when he splashed around with his family and grandparents.
"I remember when I was here when I was a kid, the memories of growing up on the lake, and I want that for my clients, their kids, and their grandkids. I started coming to this lake (Lake LBJ) when I was nine years old."
Jones explains that although the lake lifestyle is idyllic, it Is not without its challenges. He works with people who are new to the lifestyle, or who are already there and need new or more properties and guides them through the different issues that come up with purchasing and selling lake real estate. A lake property has unique concerns that a house located in a landlocked place does not. For starters people are looking for not only a home they love, but also want to consider how close they are to the water, and how they will get to the water from the property. This affects many things, including the price and availability of a property.
First clients must define what they are looking for, what their must-haves are, and what a deal breaker is, and they need to be very clear on what the budget they are working with will allow them to buy. Next, they need to know what kinds of rules and regulations are imposed on and around the lake. The water line and floodplain affect landscaping as well as additions and things like putting in pools and spas. Water quality, storage space, using a septic system, transferring ownership of septic systems, electric plans, and other technical, lesser-known concerns people may not be aware of when looking into purchasing lake property. Jones mentions the prospect of drought, and how that will affect the water access and availability of a property over time. No two lakes are exactly the same, and every situation will have unique circumstances.
Jones makes the analogy for finding your spouse you have to date different people until one finds the person they mesh the right way with, which can sometimes happen quickly and can other times take a very long time. He has had people fall in love with a lake property in a week, and others who take a year to finally find one they really love.
Jones was born and raised in West Texas, and has a long professional history in different industries, after 25 years working in the grocery industry, he made the switch to real estate in 2005. His grandfather was in real estate and Jones credits him with inspiring and encouraging him to get into the field. Jones works through Lake Homes Realty and is the registered broker for the Texas region, he also leads an award-winning team with agents all over the state.
Jones embodies his "client first" philosophy in all he does for clients, going the extra step to make their move to the lake lifestyle as smooth as possible. He has won several awards for his high record of sales, hitting the $3.5 and over the $10 million marks on multiple occasions, and earning Agent of the Year at his firm in 2018. Lake Homes Realty operates in 33 states and operates with the highest level of integrity. As Jones shares, they have been named on the INC 5000 since they were eligible, making the list every year, and the company continues to grow.
Jones gives his time to educate people at boat shows in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio, often setting up a booth and explaining the ins and outs of living on the lake. He loves to give back to the community, and has a dedication to Special Olympics Texas, as well as serving as a past President and Life-Time Honorary Board Member for the Raj Hope Foundation, supporting children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through education and recreation opportunities. Jones is also active as a life member of the Montgomery County Fair and life-time member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. His latest community service is with the City of Granite Shoals where he is a city councilman currently servicing his elected second term.
When Jones is not working to help people live the dream of the lake lifestyle, you can find him out on the water himself, making as many happy memories as possible with his amazing grandchildren. Connect with Bruce Jones and learn more on his website, the lake is calling.
