SAN LORENZO, CA / ACCESSWIRE / July 16, 2021 / According to Crunchbase, venture capital dollars to all-female founding teams declined to 2.4% in 2020 and continuing into 2021. The impact to female founders during the pandemic inspired ella STARTUPS, Latina founder, Alicia Gonzalez, to launch a no-cost mentorship program for underfunded women founders.

By December 2020, just 10 out of 120 new unicorns that joined the Crunchbase Unicorn Board had a female founder, according to a Crunchbase News analysis.

Founder, Alicia Gonzalez, created ella STARTUPS in honor female founders. In Spanish, the word ella means she/her. The no-cost program aims to teach and empower women founders with high-level financial literacy, modern marketing skills, and support from successful founders, angel investors, VCs, and subject-matter-experts for the duration of the program. Program participants are asked to pay-it-forward upon completion of the program by becoming a program mentor for other women founders.

Through this program, ella STARTUPS hopes to build a community of women founders who actively support and elevate other women along their entrepreneurial journey. Experienced female founders interested in becoming a program mentor volunteer are encouraged to reach out to ella STARTUPS via email or their social media accounts.
