The Micro and Macros of Management

MIAMI, FL / ACCESSWIRE / June 14, 2021 / Leaders like  Adam Adler, if they're worth their salt, understand that a pivotal part of their role as a team manager is to help every member reach their full potential. Conceptually, this seems simple enough, but like many things, it is easier said than done. Each member of your team will have specific needs, learning styles, and responses to disciplinary measures. In a perfect world, everyone would do their jobs to the best of their ability consistently, with little to no intervention or oversight. In a perfect world, no one would ever have to work. Until then, however, here are a few tips and tricks that help leaders like Adam Adler maximize the productivity of their team:

Delegation - A good manager knows where to allocate energy, and where not to. Essentially we are always working with a limited number of resources and must arrive at our goal by doing the best with what we have. That means there is little to no room for wasteful allocation. Know your team members intimately, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and assign duties that synergize with their abilities. For example, if one employee is notoriously slow in delivering their work but quite methodical and error-free, pair them with an employee who produces work quickly, but often does so with errors. Not only will this help you to get to the goal faster and more accurately, but it will also allow both employees in your stable to grow by learning from one another, improving the overall strength of your team.

Due Diligence - The leader of the team sets the tone for the entire project. Good managers like Adam Adler know that a team is only as strong as their weakest link. If as a leader you portray excellence and do not tolerate anything beneath that standard, your team in turn will only produce excellence. Leniency, overlooking mediocre work, can lead to apathetic attitudes that will increasingly deliver subpar results. If your attitude as a leader is to 'let it slide', your team will do the same with their duties. Approach the project in such a way that you understand your input determines the output. If you are diligent, your team must be as well.

Diversity the Adam Adler Way - In the same way that the most efficient farms and gardens synergize crop growth cycles with diversity, company teams can benefit from the variety as well. Try to assemble a well-rounded team where each individual brings a unique skill to the table. Be sure not only to include professional but interpersonal skills as well. Does your team have a motivator, a workhorse, a supporting role? Each personality is a pivotal ingredient to a winning recipe.

In closing, if you want a team that produces out of this world results, follow the three D's, delegation, diligence, and diversity.
