NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / June 1, 2021 / Labaton Sucharow LLP, a premiere plaintiffs' law firm, announces it is pursuing claims on behalf of Illinois dating site users whose profiles on OkCupid, Hinge, Tinder, Match.com, Plenty of Fish, OurTime, Chispa, and BLK were illegally subject to facial recognition technology.

The dating sites OkCupid, Hinge, Tinder, Match.com, Plenty of Fish, OurTime, Chispa, and BLK, which are owned by Match Group, Inc., are accused of violating users' privacy by illegally collecting biometric data in the form of "face scans." These face scans are unique to individuals and therefore subject to heightened protections. Under Illinois law, it is illegal for a company to collect biometric data unless it first notifies users and obtains written consent.

If you live or have lived in Illinois from 2015 to present and created a profile on OkCupid, Hinge, Tinder, Match.com, Plenty of Fish, OurTime, Chispa, or BLK, you may be entitled to compensation up to $5,000. Users can sign up for a claim at https://clientconnect.labaton.com/case/dating-sites/.
