Friday, 28 May 2021 03:00 AM

The successful entrepreneur and founder of Howley Financial Group sat down to discuss the nature of the financial business and the importance of making sound choices for retirement.

NAPLES, FL / ACCESSWIRE / May 28, 2021 / It is with great enthusiasm that financial advisor Jack Howley, founder, and president of Howley Financial Group, announces that he is the subject of a new interview. The interview, which was conducted by an online periodical aimed at businesspeople and entrepreneurs, touches on a wide array of topics ranging from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the financial industry to the misconceptions some people have about the relationship between qualified retirement plans and taxes.

Early on in the interview, upon being asked about a trend that excites him, Jack Howley responds by pointing to how COVID-19 and the accompanying government shutdowns of 2020 affected the finances of average Americans. "People have historically saved too little. What I've been reading is that as a result of COVID, people are saving more because they're not spending it. They're not going out as much, they're tightening their belts a little. That's a good thing because people have a tendency to spend much more than they should," he says, adding that it's a useful trend psychologically, as it makes people feel better about themselves and their futures by seeing more money in their accounts.

Further along in the piece, Jack Howley shares his philosophy on qualified retirement plans and taxes, remarking on the fundamental misunderstanding that leads some people to make questionable decisions about their finances. "I always tell people that there's not a qualified retirement plan in America that saves taxes, and they think I'm crazy," he says. "People are putting $19k every year into a 401k and they think they're saving $6k in taxes. They may be currently saving tax, but then that money is locked up until they're almost 60, and they're still going to pay taxes on it. That $19k would've grown to $60k and now they're going to be paying $20k in tax and only saved $6k."
