RIGA, LATVIA / ACCESSWIRE / May 18, 2021 / KIWIE 1001, the NFT project launched by popular Latvian street artist collective KIWIE, has organized a European NFT showroom to promote NFT art both by KIWIE and other digital artists.

Submissions to be presented in the showroom "KIWIE SPACE" are open to all artists. Artists wishing to showcase their work to the broader public must submit their work in the KIWIE 1001 Discord, where a dedicated Showroom channel has been set up.

The submissions will be reviewed by the KIWIE 1001 community, who will vote on their favorite pieces. The winners will be presented in the showroom when it opens to the public at the beginning of June.

The showroom will be held at Galerija Centrs, an almost 100 years old shopping mall, located in Old Riga, built in 1938. The physical venue in Galerija Centrs will be specially prepared to showcase the best digital art pieces. Access to the showroom will be free to all.

"While NFTs have quickly jumped into the mainstream, there is still a lot more work left to be done to inform the public on their benefits and applications," said Kristaps Vaivods, Lead Business Strategist at KIWIE. "We've launched the NFT showroom to help other artists get noticed and spread awareness of this new artistic revolution. NFTs open many doors in terms of creative ways of defining ownership where it used to be impractical, and they allow smaller artists to make a living without necessarily catering to large collectors."

Together with the showroom, KIWIE 1001 will be dropping its second NFT collection on Rarible. The six-piece drop will be first displayed at the showroom, in addition to pieces from the original GENESIS line.

KIWIE's NFTs are a representation of various street art pieces around the world, centered around the Fat Monster character in many creative and often unrecognizable permutations. Each NFT also comes with a unique digital 3D model of the Fat Monster, which will become a unique Ghost Monster should its original graffiti be covered.

"For us, NFTs are a way of transferring ownership of our work without removing the wall and just showcasing it at the auction, like they did to some of Banksy's works," added Vaivods. "The Fat Monster's appeal also comes from its physical location, and in some cases extracting the wall would even leave some people homeless."
