Lima Jevremovic and AURA: Bringing Solutions to Today’s Mental Health Crisis

Suicide on the Rise

DALLAS, TX / ACCESSWIRE / March 24, 2021 / Lima Jevremovic was shocked to learn that the average cost of a 30-day stay in a residential treatment center is $45,000. To put such a cost in perspective, most patients have been self-medicating for fifteen years or more before they decide to go to treatment to seek help. As Lima explains, "It is nearly impossible to change someone's behavior patterns and self-worth and treat underlying mental health conditions that have been wired to lead to self-destruction in a 30-day residential stay." With this sobering fact in mind, it was easier to understand why so many people are unable to get treatment for mental health conditions. Disturbed by what she had learned, Lima did further research and learned that the mental healthcare system is "primitive and underdeveloped." Using what she learned as well as her own family's struggles to access treatment for mental health conditions, Lima founded AURA, a digital health startup dedicated to treating mental health like physical health by using data to diagnose patients and by enhancing mental health treatment options to reduce the rate of relapse.

Lima lessens the suffering of other families and patients by making mental health manageable. She is able to do this through AURA's unique tools that were designed to improve mental healthcare, increase patient accessibility to healthcare providers, and enhance treatment options through health technology.

"AURA is data-driven healing to take mental healthcare to a new level of precision. Our secure cloud-connected SaaS data platform collects all data from mobile and VR devices to provide real-time monitoring, patterns and statistical data, risk level assessment, health detection and clinical guidance for accurate treatment of mental ailments."

Doctors are appreciative of AURA's technology, including its voice analysis and biofeedback capabilities. What is becoming a real game-changer is the company's mobile app. As Lima says, "Imagine what can be done now that on-the-go treatment is possible. Healthcare will never be the same again."

Lima had to persevere to get AURA off the ground. "As any entrepreneur knows, even when you have a good idea, starting your business isn't easy. I decided early on, though, that nothing was going to stop me. I made my share of mistakes, of course, but instead of beating myself up about them, I decided to learn from them. That took a lot of stress off of me and ultimately made AURA even stronger."

For new entrepreneurs, Lima has some suggestions. "If you don't have a thick skin, I don't recommend getting started as an entrepreneur because you are going to face some real hurdles. I also recommend having an excellent support system for those times when things get tough. Find a way to step away from what you're doing. It's so easy to get consumed by everything that goes into starting your own company. It's your passion, and you want to get it off the ground, but you've got to take a break for your own health."

Lima created AURA with a clear vision of where she wants the company to go. "In five years, I see AURA in everyone's home as the go-to choice for virtual care and telehealth solutions. I'd welcome the opportunity to work with insurance companies to create viable solutions that can save them money but reduce relapse rates for successful treatment outcomes. We have already reached over 4,000 signatures on our petition to change the industry. The public is behind this."

After everything Lima has accomplished, how does she define success? "Success is the ability to wake up in the morning content with what you have and what you spend your time doing. I have achieved that. If I lose everything tomorrow, I will still be so proud of the solutions I have created to resolve unimaginable real-world challenges."
