NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / February 22, 2021 / Edward Bruce founded TUIGSE Music Group (TMG) four years ago during a dull summer in his dorm room at the University of Glasgow. Shortly after, his long-time high school friend, Lewis Webster, joined the music venture. They wanted to help up-and-coming musicians with their digital presence and provide high quality, personal services that only major label artists would typically receive via significant investment. They were motivated to start building something long-term after gaining great success from creating gaming content for renowned YouTube multi-channel-networks (MCN's) such as Machinima and Maker Studios (later acquired by Disney).

The two media moguls began applying what they had learnt in the very early years of gaming content on YouTube - collectively amassing over 300K subscribers and 25M views - and start to apply it to rappers and producers across the UK.

Their first client, who is still the headliner for the music group today, was Paisley rapper Shogun. Edward had reached out to Shogun after his freestyle music video 'Vulcan' started circulating the UK's music scene. At first, he was knocked back by the rapper, but after the video hit the front page of Reddit in 2016 and was gaining millions of views on Facebook, the rapper decided to get the two entrepreneurs involved before it became too much. With Edward and Lewis's support at TUIGSE Music Group, Shogun was soon performing across the UK and was collecting his well-deserved royalties 24/7/365. All three soon earned gold and platinum music certifications for a feature spot on Belgian singer Loïc Nottet's debut album 'Selfocracy'.

Fast forward a year or two, Edward and Lewis were running a small roster of UK music talent, including Shogun, Faze Miyake, Merky ACE and Cadell (Wiley's younger brother). The two decided to grow the music group independently by forming relationships with the digital music services directly and then releasing individual records through smaller deals with Ditto Music and then lately AWAL. Sony Music recently acquired the latter for $430 Million, one of the industry's most significant transaction. The independent route soon paid off, with key singles gaining millions of streams across major platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube.

Edward and Lewis's unique DIY approach meant they could build out their distribution process to allow their talent to drop music at a moments notice, compared to other labels and services that often take weeks to deliver to fans. TMG acted as an ideal platform that ensured their talent was slingshot even further. Shogun performed on the second season of the BBC Three TV show 'The Rap Game UK', Faze Miyake signing an independent label deal and Cadell earning meetings with major labels such as Warner Records UK.

When asked what they have planned for the next year, Bruce says, "We are very much looking forward to venues and festivals returning in a post-COVID environment". Webster added, "[definitely] with musicians earning the most of their revenue outside of music sales [and streams], it's essential for live music to return to the UK and of-course worldwide". TMG is very much gearing up for live music returning to the UK and is working towards securing festival spots while providing full service for their talent across management, music and creative.
