Large Creator and Supplier of Linear and Digital Content Inks Deal with Leading Sexual Assault and Trafficking Expert

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 22, 2021 / Today, Conveyor Media announced their partnership with human trafficking advocate and kidnapping/trafficking survivor Cheryl Hunter, represented by Gersh's Laura McDonald. Hunter's project Trafficked (based on the podcast of the same name) will focus on telling the stories of victims and frontline champions facing this epidemic head-on. To date, according to the United Nations, more than 40 million people worldwide are victims of modern slavery.

Coming off her groundbreaking episode of Dr. Phil where she discussed her personal story of rape and escape, her recent feature in People, and her successful podcast Trafficked, Hunter hopes to continue to build momentum while she educates and inspires. "After the launch of Conveyor Media's Podcast Division and the critically acclaimed true-crime podcast The Chosen Ones, we were looking for the next big project that could pave the way for a groundbreaking television series... and when we met Cheryl, we knew that Trafficked could be that project," said Rebecca Sirmons, VP of Development for Conveyor Media. "Sadly, series such as Lifetimes award-winning series Surviving R.Kelly and Netflix's Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich represent just a small portion of trafficking victims. In Trafficked, Cheryl makes it very clear that it can happen to anybody, anywhere and to anyone."

Colin Whelan, President and Owner of Conveyor Media, and his team add Hunter's storytelling talents to their impressive roster of programming consisting of the hit Joe Exotic: Tigers, Lies, and Cover-Up for Investigation Discovery, Cooking On High for Netflix, Bargain Mansions for HGTV/DIY, and the Justin Bieber Roast Red Carpet for Comedy Central.
