Thanks to an advanced live inventory browser and wide variety of PPE on-hand, Staten Island start-up emerges as medical brand to watch during Coronavirus pandemic

STATEN ISLAND, NY / ACCESSWIRE / February 15, 2021 / Nearly a year ago, the medical supplies industry looked very different and was turned up-side-down by the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic as hospitals and urgent care centers struggled with COVID-19 spreading faster than companies could manufacture respirators, masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE). That’s when two leading sports companies -- Wooter Apparel and GameBreaker -- came together to launch CovCare and instantly began making a difference by changing the personal experience of ordering and receiving PPE at a life-saving rate.

Now after recently celebrating surpassing their 100,000 order placed in 2020, CovCare is striving toward another 100,000 orders placed in 2021 with the new global marketplace taking notice.

So how did this small start-up brand that pivoted from customized sports apparel and athletic protection gear emerge as a medical supplies leader in ten short months of operation?

The first goal was to smooth the supply chain process and avoid any export restrictions from China. Within the first month of operation last March, CovCare immediately placed an emphasis on finding shipping solutions to ensure they could receive PPE in a timely manner. As companies like UPS, DHL, and FedEx all coped with shipping delays, CovCare quickly found ways to solve end-to-end supply chain matters by working with five different shipping companies at one time to circumvent the strict limitations that have been arising during the COVID-19 pandemic. CovCare worked directly with customs brokers (who are regulated and empowered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to assist importers and exporters in meeting Federal requirements governing imports and exports) to receive customs clearance from manufacturers overseas. The company also booked private flights on cargo planes to go directly to airports in 1-3 days instead of 7-10 days (or more) like some major courier services took.

After identifying and remedying a number of shipping shortcomings, CovCare built-up their extensive inventory supply Stateside and began placing orders for hospitals, non-profit organizations, big and small companies, universities, and government departments for much-needed PPE items. Along with receiving orders from Montefiore Medical Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, Staten Island University Hospital, and Houston Methodist Hospital, CovCare successfully shipped face masks and other personal protective equipment to the University of Texas, the University of South Alabama, 20th Century Fox, Inc., Burger King, the United States of America Department of Defense, and the United States Navy, among many others.

Individual orders and wholesale orders have flooded in from across the United States and around the world ever since.

Building on online infrastructure in a digitized world equally paid huge dividends for CovCare on their way to placing over 100,000 orders in 2020.

Thanks to their live inventory browser, customers have the chance to readily explore in-stock PPE items from CovCare and other brands ranging from N95 respirators, to K95 respirators, disposable 3-ply face masks, examination gloves, face shields, surgical gowns, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, and other medical supplies. CovCare also recently launched their new CovCare mobile app (available on either Apple or GooglePlay) to make browsing and purchasing CovCare PPE items that much easier for healthcare professionals, essential workers, and everyday citizens.

It’s just one more way where CovCare is making a huge impact on changing the medical supplies industry.
