Social media consultant Kyle Lorber recently discussed social media trends and statistics to look out for in 2021

HOBOKEN, NJ / ACCESSWIRE / January 14, 2021 / Social media is one of the most effective and affordable ways to market your brand or organization. The start of a new year means the start of a new focus for many companies, and social media manager Kyle Lorber recently explained that there will be a number of new trends and statistics to look out for.

Kyle Lorber began by explaining that Facebook is expected to make several changes and advancements in 2021. The company, which faced a number of challenges in 2020 due to political division, finished the year stronger than ever. Kyle Lorber stated that Facebook will still be an essential digital marketing platform.

"We can expect e-commerce to be more important than ever for Facebook this year," Lorber said. "The company recently released 'Shops on Facebook and Instagram,' and it appears to be the beginning of digital storefronts for businesses around the globe."

Lorber stated that Shops on Facebook and Instagram will simplify the current Marketplace feature and offer businesses superior opportunities to connect with customers. Similarly, Kyle Lorber added that we will see all kinds of business events go digital in 2021. This is partially due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as our ever-increasing use of digital devices.

"Businesses are going to have to use social media and other online platforms to survive in 2021, especially amidst the coronavirus pandemic," Kyle Lorber said. "Social media stats from two years ago show at least 3.5 billion people around the globe using social media."

Kyle Lorber explained that 3.5 billion people is nearly half of the world population. He added that Facebook is the market leader and most widely used social media platform among adults. Roughly two-thirds of adults in the United States are currently Facebook users.

"Businesses and organizations really need to focus on social media," Lorber said. "They need to diversify their social media content to engage more users."

Kyle explained that social media is expected to become a major channel for making purchases in 2021, so businesses, especially retail brands, will need to embrace and adapt to new social media shops. We could see a major shift from U.S. citizens shopping on Amazon to shopping on social media.

"Roughly 90 percent of millennials are using social media," Lorber said. "If this is your target audience, you can expect to benefit from improving your social media presence and store in 2021."

Kyle Lorber explained that we're already seeing 54 percent of social media users using their accounts to research products and companies. It won't be long until we see a majority of users shopping via social media as well.

"We can expect another extremely digital year with travel, socializing, and other trends extremely limited due to the pandemic," Kyle Lorber said. "Companies that are willing to embrace that will be more likely to succeed."
