Tuesday, 01 December 2020 11:40 PM

KANSAS CITY, MI / ACCESSWIRE / December 1, 2020 / One of the best ways to leave an impression in the music industry is by coming up with a gimmick. Artist Lil Nas X started by creating a cowboy gimmick before moving on to try other stunts. Rising artist Amaru Son knew that he would have to brand himself as something widely known but rarely executed to make it out there.

Amaru Son, whose real name is JaKealon Amaru Chase, hails from the cultivation midwest city of Kansas City, Missouri. As a child, Amaru grew up surrounded by an environment richly invested in the art of music. From his family to his friends, he was exposed to a diverse category of music.

Outside of music, Amaru was also passionate about sports. He especially loved the dynamics of track and field. Amaru excelled in the sport and even managed to make it to the team when he studied in college. However, he started falling out of love with track and field. Amaru realized that he didn't want to continue in the sport for the rest of his life. After a semester of conflicted feelings in 2016, Amaru made the difficult decision to leave the tracks and college.

While most people would think that it was a mistake to leave such a promising career, Amaru was dead set on establishing himself in his first love: music. He took inspiration from other people who loved and made music. With a circle that revolved around making songs, Amaru was inspired to do the same.

But making a name for yourself is no easy feat, Amaru understood. For his brand, he was heavily influenced by anime culture. The legendary anime show Dragon Ball Z gave him the idea to take the stage name, Amaru Son, paying tribute to the protagonist Son Goku. The influence doesn't end there as Amaru also had a graphic artist design pay tribute to the anime in the cover art for his singles. He also had his own character design with hopes of making it into some anime shows and lending his voice in a role.

Amaru has been compared to names like Iann Dior, Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd, and Juice WRLD as an artist. He takes inspiration from Michael Jackson, Childish Gambino, and The Weeknd. As an independent artist, Amaru does most of the work himself, recording, producing, engineering, mixing, and mastering his songs.

By 2019, Amaru's luck would start turning around. His songs would start getting recognized by popular YouTubers such as Tommy Craze and Im Dontai. The recognition proved to be a game-changer as it gave him the start he needed. Since then, Amaru Son has been on the rise. His song "Lost & Found" went viral and garnered over six million streams on multiple platforms. Following his rise, Amaru also gained a following as people found they could relate to his songs. Whenever he can, Amaru takes the time to listen and react to the music his fans create. By using livestream on YouTube, they can all share and enjoy the music.

Amaru Son hopes to become part of a label in a few short years. He is hopeful that the anime show he's working on right now will get picked up and grow with new writers and an animation team to get the next best thing rolling.

Amaru Son regularly updates his life on Instagram, including his next releases. His merchandise is also available on his website.
