TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / November 5, 2020 / Sparta Group (TSXV:SAY) (the "Corporation" the "Company", "Sparta Group", "Sparta Capital" or "Sparta") is expanding its reach to help some of the most vulnerable exposed to COVID-19 by incorporating Sparta Health Group Ltd. ("Sparta Health") into its portfolio of companies. It's a Sparta COVID-19 Safety System expansion that is made possible by partnering with Motocitee Industries Inc. ("Motocitee"), a Health Canada approved supplier.

As previously announced in the Company's July 16, 2020 news release, "Sparta assembled an exclusive suite of COVID-19 safety tools to assist the trucking industry - to better understand the effects of the novel coronavirus". However, as the pandemic has progressed it has become apparent how incredibly difficult it is for medical facilities to secure a reliable supply of Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE") and for other sectors to find reliable health related technologies to help calm the anxieties brought on by the attention given to COVID-19.

With a strong science and engineering team already in place, Sparta decided it made sense to first work with Motocitee to develop a program utilizing proper process control engineering principles to help streamline the purchasing system, so as to assist healthcare facilities in dire need of PPE. Giving such facilities a more reliable way to purchase without getting bogged down by the many independent brokers who have become so prevalent in the present purchasing system - especially as it relates to the disposable glove market is crucial.

In addition to the immediate need for PPE, Sparta Health will also be mobilizing its sales force to distribute Sparta's previously announced line of pathogen protection nanotechnology formulations into new market verticals. As well, the company is looking to license a line of environmentally safe pathogen protection technologies that can provide automated 24/7 microbe control for work spaces, such as offices, medical facilities, eating establishments, factories and the like. Currently, discussions are also underway with a related Canadian specialty PPE manufacturer to help expand manufacturing capabilities to meet the growing market demand for their products.

"It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that the worldwide demand for PPE has gone up exponentially, with many Billions of dollars of product being purchased every month. Both the size of the market combined with the confusion that has emerged around how to acquire PPE has led to huge opportunities. As a result, Sparta is pleased to be joining forces with Motocitee, to put efficient programs in place, including those related to the direct procurement of PPE; to help our frontline workers receive the necessary tools they need to keep our society-at-large safe and feeling more comfortable with the environment in which we now must live." said Sparta President, John O'Bireck.

Several months ago the World Health Organization (WHO) warned that rising demand for PPE, panic buying, hoarding and misuse would put lives at risk. Since that time, supply manipulation has meant many Canadian healthcare facilities have struggled to secure the appropriate supply of gloves, masks, face shields and gowns.

"We are pleased to be joining the Sparta team, to be able to serve a sector that clearly needs the kind of help we can provide. We have the technical and processing know-how to step up during this unprecedented time of COVID-19. The fact that Sparta has already come forward to help the trucking industry with health concerns tells us that we have a partner that cares not only about the environment but human health, which of course aligns with our health care mandate," said Jason Smith, President and CEO of Motocitee, and newly appointed Managing Director of Sparta Health.

While Sparta's core business is upcycling sources of waste materials and sources of waste energy to improve the environment, as well as saving truckers time, energy and money, it has taken steps to also help with the COVID-19 health crisis; especially as it relates to the frontline workers; both in the trucking industry and now in the healthcare field.

"We can reduce plastics, upcycle e-waste, make commercial and industrial operations more efficient, and bring multiple efficiencies to the trucking industry. However, we need a healthy workforce too. We hope our wellness efforts will contribute to people's prosperity. We define prosperity as being successful in both financial wealth, as well as in good health," said Sparta Chairman, Peter Quattro.
