Founder of Ferrari Energy Adam Ferrari Comments on How Energy and Chemical Companies Can Address Sustainability Directly

Tuesday, 01 September 2020 12:50 AM

Many business owners in the energy and chemical industry, including the founder of Ferrari Energy, discuss how to strive towards sustainability.

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / September 1, 2020 / In 2015, leaders all over the world chose to embrace the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that marked the path towards better sustainability for the next fifteen years, or until the year 2030. Such goals required the participation and accountability of multiple industries, including energy and chemical organizations.

"Energy and chemical companies can address and achieve sustainability within their businesses through thoughts and innovative ideas surrounding efficiency and conservation," said Adam Ferrari, founder of the Denver-based mineral acquisitions company Ferrari Energy. He's a chemical engineer by degree and an accomplished petroleum engineer by profession.

Now, industry leaders like Ferrari are taking a closer look at their responsibilities in making the world a better place. Of the initial 2015 SDGs, objectives that these industries can address incorporate energy, waste minimization, pollution prevention, sustainable acquisition, vehicle and fuel use, resilience, and ecosystem management.

Within the chemical industry, chemical exposure is responsible for 8.3% of all worldwide deaths and 5.7% of the total burden of disease. Those numbers alone represent the dire need for chemical businesses to promote safety measures moving forward.

To better align with UN Sustainable Development Goals, conservationists have highlighted five key areas crucial in creating a more sustainable chemical industry. For a greener approach, chemical companies need to foresee issues, deconstruct the green chemistry silo, avoid justifying negative chemical perspectives, promote and exemplify values of sustainable, safe energy, and take into account the circular economy into the product life cycle.

Consumers in the modern age seek to support more environmentally cautious, sustainable chemical and energy organizations. Researchers from Nielsen recently found that customers favor companies that are actively reducing their environmental footprint, and one-third of buyers are willing to pivot their shopping habits to adopt more sustainable practices.
