He saw it as a life-changing opportunity, and founded a fragrance brand in 2013 that initially targeted lifestyle-driven African-American consumers. Seven years later, Ovation for Men has gained a massive following.

According to Shawn, his company was a labor of love. From being rejected by manufacturers to running out of products due to multiple delays, Shawn has surpassed it all. He survives, but most importantly, he thrives.
The biggest challenge for Shawn isn't found amidst his journey, but at the beginning. Starting his business from scratch, without contacts or much knowledge about the fragrance industry, was ultimately challenging for Shawn.
But like any Black man would, he persevered. He challenged himself, lived outside of his comfort zone, and believed in himself. This may sound like a cliché, but believing in yourself is one of the best things you can do. Take it from Shawn Crenshaw.
