NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / October 2, 2018 / Games-as-a-service (GaaS) company, PlayGiga, founded in 2013 in Madrid, Spain, today announced the expansion of its gaming streaming service in the United States by offering a streaming service to Telcoms based on the new 5G wireless technology.

After successful launches in Spain, Italy, Argentina and Chile, PlayGiga has announced a new streaming solution fully compatible with 5G technology to support US Telcom's rollouts of the new 5G networks.

As part of its expansion efforts, PlayGiga has collaborated with Intel to offer an alternative solution to legacy Graphic Cards, based on the new Intel® Core™ i7 processors with Radeon™ RX Vega M Graphics, providing an innovative, cost-effective and scalable way for Telcoms to address one of the hottest 5G applications available today: game streaming for the mass market.

"5G is happening now and it is happening in the US first, a market that is ahead of Europe in the rollout of this new technology. Streaming high-quality videogame AAA content to the mass market is one of the key ways Telcoms can promote and monetize their 5G network investments. We want to support Telcoms by providing a commercial, high-quality solution," said Javier Polo, CEO of PlayGiga.

PlayGiga is fully focused on distributing its services through B2B partners and providing their customers with streaming access to a high-quality catalogue of 140 top games via fixed or 5G connectivity. The company currently distributes its service through agreements providing white label solutions with blue chip partners such as TIM across Italy and Turner in Chile and Argentina and is building a network of demo centers with leading Telcoms and technological partners to research the application of Cloud Gaming to Edge Computing to further optimize network latency to validate Virtual Reality in the Cloud.

"Intel and PlayGiga are disrupting the cloud gaming market segment by enabling rich cloud gaming experiences across all platforms, so consumers can game on virtually any device, anytime, and anywhere," said Lynn Comp, Vice President, Data Center Group, and General Manager, Visual Cloud Division, Intel Corporation. "Intel Core i7 processors with Radeon* RX Vega M Graphics, along with Intel's leadership in 5G networks, are helping PlayGiga deliver an amazing user experience across a wide range of highly interactive, rich and complex games."

With the global games industry worth an estimated $100 billion annually and growing in every region of the world, the opportunity Telcoms have to capture this "interactive entertainment" opportunity is huge. 5G technology makes this opportunity even larger as it enables Telcoms to provide these services at home, on the move, and in location-based entertainment centers in esports events.

"Telcoms are actively looking for new, innovative services such as game streaming to differentiate their offerings, increase revenue growth and reduce churn. Providing game streaming content will also allow them to manage the risk of being disintermediated by leading console and OTT players who will offer TV and gaming content and have a direct relationship with end consumers," said Javier Polo, CEO of PlayGiga.
