Their latest development together for onboarding new Owners and General Managers won a Silver distinction from the Horizon Interactive Awards. The Horizon Interactive Awards is an annual competition which recognizes outstanding achievements in interactive media developments around the world. The training course provides an overview of the requirements and available tools for new Owners and General Managers of Wyndham properties. Unlike traditional eLearning courses, the course functions like a website so users can navigate freely through the information to find exactly what they need. It also tracks users' progress and activity scores to Wyndham's Learning Management System (LMS) so the training department can identify the areas where users are succeeding or struggling.
Designing Digitally, Inc. added a whimsical touch to the training by basing it around growing a fictional hotel. Users unlock enhancements to their hotel as they complete achievements in the course, such as new flooring in the lobby or lounge chairs by the pool. In addition, their hotel grows as the town in which it resides increases in energy from excited tourists. The theme helps owners and general managers take pride in their new roles and see the opportunities that can come from running a Wyndham property.
