OTTAWA, CANADA / ACCESSWIRE / October 30, 2017 / Amika Mobile and Mobility Insight (Mobi) announce a collaborative project focussed on intelligent border security and Connected Vehicle Systems. Amika Mobile's Amika Mobility Server (AMS) platform for critical and emergency communications with hybrid Cloud and on-Premise capability is being leveraged by Mobi. The AMS is a patented AI-based intelligent agent platform and can process thousands of simultaneous events while automatically discovering mobile devices in public places like border crossings and airports and stadiums to instantly assist in critical situations and evacuations as a crisis unfolds. Mobi's cloud system and IoT sensor network allow prediction and analytics and optimization of traffic. Amika Mobile and Mobi are working on a joint project for the Government of Canada with partial support from CIIRDF.

"It is excellent to be working with Mobi who is an innovator in the intelligent traffic management and guidance of connected vehicles (V2X). Amika Mobile is always aiming at the forefront of technology with just-in-time® information and it made sense for us to bring the latest security and safety product innovations to connected vehicles and intelligent border crossings, where we can continue to leverage AI within our AMS platform to save lives," said Amika Mobile CEO Dr. Sue Abu-Hakima.

"This project is a unique use of connected vehicle technology for mobility optimization. Our ability to manage demand and reduce bottlenecks is key to the future of mobility and reduced traffic congestion. Intelligent border crossings are an ideal use case of Mobi's solutions, and together with Amika Mobile, we are able to bring this innovative solution to the security market." said Dov Ganor CEO of Mobility Insight.

Mobi's solutions are creating a better intelligent infrastructure, supporting traffic management policy, strategy and planning. Through improved traffic-related situational awareness and performance indicators it enables smart, real-time decisions about road congestion and a better understanding of city-wide traffic patterns. Mobi leverages data fusion from legacy systems, intelligent sensors, V2X, and DSRC. Mobi's solutions also support V2X Event Mobility Management, Traffic control and optimization, as well as master transportation planning, etc.

The AMS intelligent agent platform enables situational awareness, information sharing, rapid 2-way communications across devices and networks, and control through advanced integration with physical security including gunshot detection sensors to trigger lockdowns with looped voice over the paging system. AMS alerts and tracks responses from ANY communication layer including Connected Vehicles as well as Callouts, VoIP, SMS, Pop-ups, Push, Email, overhead monitors, digital signs, Twitter or tickers, based on sensor events from gunshot detectors, access control, fire panels, camera systems, VMS, building automation, government agency or weather alerts, panic buttons, and including Mobi's IoT sensor network.

The Connected Vehicle Market is estimated to grow to $2.2 Trillion by 2020 according to Business Insider Intelligence group. The public safety and security market is growing from $305B in 2011 to $546B in 2022 according to Homeland Security Research Corp. in Washington, DC. Amika® Panic , Amika®Alert, and Amika® Situation Commander in conjunction with AMS and Mobi's Cloud Analytics fit seamlessly into these markets where the integration of innovative systems is paramount to unlocking increased efficiency, security and safety especially with Smart Cities and management of Traffic Congestion.

A presentation and a demonstration of the Amika Mobile and Mobi integration for connected vehicles will be showcased at the 24th Intelligent Transport Systems - ITS World Congress 2017 at the Palais de Congress in Montreal, Quebec at the Transport Canada Pavilion booth #409 on Tuesday October 29th at 2 pm.
