Integrative Health & Healing is a Holistic Transformative 36-credit degree program which examines health, wellness and illness from a holistic perspective. This approach involves comparing, connecting and integrating conventional, alternative and complementary approaches to promoting health and wellness as well as towards prevention and healing. This program offers a unique and extraordinary opportunity to study the best of Eastern and Western medicine and psychology in a hands-on, interactive learning environment, providing not only up to date scientific knowledge but also experience and practice of many diagnostic and healing techniques focused to treat the whole person. This enables students to design and apply personalized models of health, wellness and (eventually) healing.

From the ancient roots of medicine to contemporary practice, the degree enables participants to incorporate complementary and alternative therapies into their professions and personal lives. The curriculum includes Meditation and Stress Management, Homeopathy, Nutrition, Sound and Art Therapies, Breath Work Therapy, Naturopathic, Chinese, Ayurveda and Energy Medicine.

Learning and Thinking (MALT) is a 36-credit degree program that embraces a philosophy of education rooted in relationship, holism, and meaning. MALT is predicated on establishing a New Culture of Learning that develops the knowledge, skills, competencies, and imagination for a world in constant flux. Towards this end, the program nurtures the emergence of a collegial learning community dedicated to co-creating new meaning within a constructivist and transdisciplinary context.

CONSCIOUSNESS STUDIES AND TRANSPERSONAL PSYCHOLOGY is a 36-credit degree program that explores the nature, role, and development of human consciousness and transpersonal phenomena. What makes this program unique is that we have holistically integrated different perspectives into the coursework - psychological and spiritual, western and eastern, epistemological and clinical.

The Organizational Leadership faculty includes consultants to some of the world's largest companies, as well as some of the best-known change management and team building experts across the globe. Together, they work with TGI students to help each student identify, define, and achieve their vision of leadership-in the community, on the job, or even at home.

WRITING AND THE ORAL TRADITION

  • Learning how stories influence the way we think, feel, act and behave
  • Exploring the creative process and their own creativity
  • Understanding the power and application of narrative storytelling
  • Being part of a motivated and close-knit learning community
  • Melding self-directed learning with invigorating classroom learning
  • Publishing or otherwise bringing their stories to life

Throughout the program, you'll be encouraged to develop your own individual writing voice and style, as well as consider the impact a narrative can have on both author and audience. For all projects, you'll be mentored through each stage of the often-challenging creation and revision process. Those who desire will also be given the opportunity to publish completed work through The Undisciplined Press, TGI's e-publishing imprint for students, faculty and alumni.

Whether your goal is to become a confident, engaging oral storyteller, or to write a book or screenplay, the MA in Writing and the Oral Tradition program will provide time-tested methods for bringing stories to life through the spoken and written word; bringing their stories to life.
