Herbert leads efforts in Southern California - North, Arizona, and Nevada; Szymanski leads efforts in the Pacific Northwest.

With more than 20 years of mortgage industry experience, Brian Herbert brings a dynamic leadership style and strong analytical, financial and organizational skills to his position at Stearns. He previously served as Director of Third-Party Originations at Kinecta Federal Credit Union and led a team that ranked No.1 in loan production for four consecutive years. Earlier in his career, Herbert held leadership positions in wholesale and correspondent lending channels at firms that included CitiMortgage, ABN AMRO Financial Services - InterFirst Wholesale Mortgage Corp., and First Nationwide Mortgage Corp.
For more than 25 years, Gary Szymanski has demonstrated exceptional skills as a leader who builds top-performing sales teams from the ground up. Prior to joining Stearns Lending, he served as Regional Manager - Northwest Region for Planet Home Lending, where he was responsible for initial expansion into the region and built a team of account executives to serve broker and non-delegated correspondent channels. During his 18-year tenure at Flagstar Bank, FSB, he was responsible for entry into the state and grew the wholesale channel platform from a one-person service to a network serving accounts in the Mountain and Northwest regions.
