New biofeedback technology from Bend Tech LLC captures CES 2016 Innovation Awards; unveiled on Nov. 10 in New York, then launched at CES, Jan. 6-9, Booth No. 72961

SALT LAKE CITY, UT / ACCESSWIRE / November 10, 2015 / The new Mettis Trainer(R) from Bend Tech LLC plans to splash onto the market by slipping into your shoe. The latest in wearable biofeedback technology tracks pressure points on the sole during activity with a patent-pending insert, enabling runners and golfers to self-correct balance and form to achieve optimal performance and avoid injury.

During a special unveiling awards ceremony, the Mettis Trainer will receive the CES 2016 Innovation Award as an Honoree in the Fitness, Sports and Biotech category on Nov. 10 in New York at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The public, retailers and manufacturers can be among the first to give Mettis Trainer a run at the CES Show in Las Vegas, January 6-9 at booth No. 72961.

According to Tony deGreef, who developed the Mettis Trainer, runners using the product rave about how monitoring their balance and how force is being distributed, helps them make adjustments to their form, literally on the run.

For golfers, Mettis Trainer tracks balance and weight distribution, making this "the holy grail of golf instruction," according to one executive with a global distribution company.

"To say I'm excited about receiving this CES Award would be an incredible understatement," said deGreef, who has invested the last five years developing Mettis Trainer. "Having CES and Olympian athletes valídate our product, has opened doors for us, and our eyes to the future potential."

The Mettis Trainer(R) shoe insert, and companion smartphone application, is the first to monitor real-time balance, force, and weight distribution while running on the course or on the field of play. Each insert has three BendSensors®, weighs less than 60 grams, and features a comfortable yet durable insert estimated to last 300-500 miles.

Using a smartphone, the Mettis Trainer(R) displays real-time data via Bluetooth(TM) to a wireless device. These proprietary BendSensors(R), manufactured by Flexpoint Sensor Systems, measure force applied in each heel, and on the lateral and medial side of the foot.

The Mettis Trainer(R) is now available for manufacturing, says deGreef. "We're gearing up to go to market, looking at several distribution channels, product integration ideas and other ways for athletes to benefit from this innovative new product."
