Organizations with Outstanding Learning and Development Initiatives were Highlighted at Human Capital Media's 2015 Spring CLO Symposium

TACOMA, WA / ACCESSWIRE / July 1, 2015 / Sound Physicians was acknowledged as a 'LearningElite' organization by Chief Learning Officer, a publication of Human Capital Media. The LearningElite program is composed of organizations performing above a benchmark standard for learning and development (L&D) best practices in their workforce. Organizations are ranked based on their execution and impact of these L&D initiatives.

The LearningElite program is the only peer-ranking and benchmarking program of its kind. Developed through collaboration between chief learning officers, senior workforce development practitioners and the Human Capital Media Research and Advisory Group, LearningElite competition utilizes rigorous evaluation methodologies to objectively assess both the scope and value of participants' L&D practices.

"Every year the number of applications we receive grows, and this year was no exception," said Sarah Kimmel, director of research and advisory services for HCM. "While our rigorous metrics and high standard for inclusion in the program remain consistent, we are seeing more organizations striving to surpass the benchmark and qualify."

Sound Physicians' Physician Development Program encompasses the entire scope of a provider's career with Sound Physicians. Immediately upon joining the organization, providers attend regional onboarding sessions; then, they are nurtured along a two-year Path to Partnership track that rewards those demonstrating quality performance and practice values. Online educational curricula as well as supplemental webinars and in-person leadership courses encourage and nurture provider's professional development. Providers also receive routine feedback through online self-assessments, 360 evaluations, annual performance surveys, as well as communication skills observation and coaching, allowing them to focus on strengths and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

In addition, Sound Physicians offers leadership courses geared toward business leaders and nurses. Business colleagues attend workshops that teach the fundamentals in leading teams and having the critical conversations necessary to succeed. Hospitalist nurses attend workshops to onboard the newest team members; they also participate in a nursing curriculum that equips them with the skills necessary to provide the best possible outcomes to Sound Physicians' patients, partners and the communities it serves.

Mark A. Rudolph, M.D., Sound Physicians' VP of Physician Development and Patient Experience commented, "From the moment a physician joins Sound Physicians, we have an entire team focused on their growth as a leader. We believe in developing physicians not just to be great providers, but to be great partners for the hospitals and communities we serve."
