For the fifth consecutive year, Reader's Digest conducted a survey that polled the product brands and services, as well as the media and personalities that Mexicans trust the most.

Mexico City, Mexico / ACCESSWIRE / September 15, 2014 / Reader's Digest, the publisher of Selecciones, presented its fifth annual "Trusted Brands" award in the category of Most Trusted Television Host to renowned game show host Marco Antonio Regil.  This marks the second time that Regil has won the prestigious Reader's Digest award which recognizes brands and public figures that generate the most trust and loyalty among Mexicans. The award was presented at the University Club of Mexico, in an event that was filled with leading figures from the business and media worlds.  Regil first won the Reader's Digest award for Most Trusted Television Host in 2010.

Regil began his passion for entertainment as a child living in Tijuana, Mexico when he would sit in the backseat of his mother's 1972 Volkswagen Beetle and "announce" Top 40 radio using the extra seat belt strap as his microphone.  At 8, he entertained for family members and friends by "announcing" and playing his own pre-recorded commercials from behind closed doors, sharing only his voice through a speaker.  In his teenage years, Regil further honed his craft and at 15 won a talent contest that landed him his very own radio show at a local station.  Following years of hard work and dedication the ambitious youngster turned into a household name throughout Mexico.  The longstanding host of hit game shows including The Price is Right, Dancing with the Stars, Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader, Regil successfully brought his unique style and charisma to the U.S. as the host of Family Feud for major Spanish-language network MundoFox where he continues to attract millions of loyal viewers in the Hispanic USA market and throughout Latin America.  And with Minuto Para Ganar and Family Feud, Regil is the only Mexican television host to have Spanish language game shows airing in both the U.S. and Mexico concurrently.

Regil's high-profile work with prominent charities is yet another factor that has endeared him to fans, helping to raise more than $500 million dollars as the award-winning host of the National Telethon for over 15 years.

Regil has also taken his talents to the big screen as a voice actor. Recent credits include MegaMind (Spanish) and Rio 2 (English).

Key to Regil's 'trust factor' is his commitment to educating and inspiring others with the knowledge he has gained to 'be the best person they can be.'  Referred to as a Transformational  Advocate, he spends much of his time working with people to transform their lives both in terms of improving their financial well-being as well as enhancing their health and lifestyle. After enduring his own health scare, Regil recognized the vital importance of eating healthful foods and regular exercise.  As a result, he has become well-known throughout the world for his practice of yoga, veganism, and Spiritual Psychology, which he shares with people throughout Latin America and the U.S..

About the Reader's Digest Most Trusted Awards:

The research agency, Demotecnia of Heras, created a methodology based on the opinions of users to measure their trust. It conducted nationwide telephone interviews during the month of March, which helped distinguish the companies that have been preferred the most by Mexicans. Forty-three different categories of products, services and public figures were analyzed.

Eleven categories were awarded for the most trusted public figures, which included: Actor, Actress, Journalist, Radio Journalist, Male and Female Singer, Television Host, Male and Female Entertainment Radio Announcers, Newspaper, and TV or radio journalist.

As to the participating brands in each category, the winners were those that were mentioned the most when the following question was asked: "What brand do you trust the most in a particular category?" Additionally, various attributes such as image, quality, price, reason for purchase, and overall satisfaction were measured.
