Dick’s Sporting Goods Misses Analyst Expectations; Credit Suisse Group Pleads Guilty in U.S. Tax Evasion Case

Shares of DKS closed down nearly 18% on Tuesday with about 15.7 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest decliners on the NYSE and sank to a new yearly low of $43.51 during intra-day trading. The company’s first-quarter earnings trailed analysts' expectations. Dick’s Sporting Goods reported adjusted earnings per share of 50 cents, compared to the Thomson Reuters consensus estimate of 52 cents a share. Revenue totaled $1.44 billion, which also trailed analysts’ expectations of $1.46 billion.

Shares of FireEye Inc. closed up nearly 5% on Tuesday with about 17.6 million shares traded. The company’s share lockup expiration is on Wednesday which will allow more than 82 million FireEye shares to be traded for the first time without restrictions put in place after the company's secondary stock offering earlier this year.

APHD shares closed up 36.36% on Tuesday with about 3.3 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers in the OTCBB market and hit the stock’s yearly high of $0.02 during intra-day trading. There was no news to explain the sudden breakout.

Shares of CS closed up a modest 0.93% on Tuesday with about 2 million shares traded. The company pleaded guilty to having helped U.S. clients dodge taxes. Attorney General Eric Holder said at a press conference: “This case shows that no financial institution, no matter its size or global reach, is above the law.”
