NORCROSS, GA / ACCESSWIRE / MARCH 4, 2014 / VEGA BIOFUELS, INC. (Pink Sheets VGPR) announced today it has added a leading torrefaction expert to the Company’s Advisory Committee.
Joseph J. James, founder and president, of Agri-Tech Producers, LLC, whose company has exclusively licensed and commercialized innovative torrefaction technology, developed by North Carolina State University has joined the Advisory Committee of Vega Biofuels.
The Company recently announced plans to expand its business model of manufacturing bio-coal to include manufacturing and marketing a product called biochar for various agricultural applications, including the medical marijuana and hemp industries. As a part of this expansion, the Company created the Advisory Committee to provide support and direction in the manufacturing of various torrefied products.
About Joseph J. James:
A former, 33-year economic development professional, Mr. James is a biomass leader in the Southeast, having formed and served on the Executive Committee of the South Carolina Biomass Council. He serves on the US Government’s Biomass Research and Development Technical Advisory Committee, advising the DOE and USDA on their biomass research and development programs. A 2008 Purpose Prize Winner, Mr. James received a BS in Science, from Union College, and has studied law and business at New York University.
