New York City, New York -- (June 03, 2013)

U.S. entertainment services providers such as theme park operators are likely to benefit from an improvement in the labor market. Notwithstanding, last week’s disappointing initial jobless claims data, the U.S. labor market has continued to show signs of improvement. The improving labor market outlook has also boosted consumer confidence in the U.S. as evidenced by the final reading on Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index for the month of May. The improvement in the labor market, as well as the broader economy, is also likely to boost demand for business and leisure travel which will benefit online travel companies. On Friday, May 31, 2013, shares in entertainment companies ended mostly lower as the broad market fell sharply. The major movers in the sector included The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS), Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: TWX), Orbitz Worldwide Inc. (NYSE: OWW), and Six Flags Entertainment Corp. (NYSE: SIX).
