As Olivier Martelly noted, one of the things he enjoys the most about working in music is his ability to have a positive impact on the largely unstructured Haitian music industry.

"I've set personal challenges to structure it in different ways, from legal to management, to infrastructure," he said, adding that he wants to play a leading role in defining where the Haitian music industry will be in the next few years.

As for the best advice he has ever received, Olivier responded by saying "self-trust is the first secret of success." People who wish to learn more about the talented artist can also follow him on FB.

The devoted father and husband who adores spending time with his family also discussed what he enjoys doing in his spare time. As he told the team from FiveHundo.com, he is very fond of sports and especially karate.

"I became a black belt at the age of 13. As an adult, I learned to appreciate that my parents always encouraged me to play sports," he said. "Karate taught me to set goals and focus on reaching them. That's where I learned self control and tolerance."

As Olivier noted, the discipline that he learned from martial arts helps him every day to reach goals that he sets in both his personal and professional life.

"Through soccer, I learned to be a team player and to work with people from all walks of life."

Although Haitian foods like home cooked rice with lalo is definitely a fave, Olivier said he also loves Asian food.
