WILMINGTON, DE / ACCESSWIRE / December 3, 2014 / Major League Football (OTC: MLFB), spring-football's new, professional league scheduled to kick off in 2016, announced today that former Chicago Bears General Manager, Detroit Lions V.P. of Player Personnel Executive, and the co-executive which formed the NFL Europe, Mr. Jerry Vainisi, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for Major League Football, Inc.

Mr. Vainisi joined former Dallas Cowboys President, Tex Schramm, in establishing and implementing the "World League of American Football" for the NFL. The league began operations and gameplay in 1991, and eventually became "NFL Europe". For sixteen highly successful seasons, Mr. Vainisi's innovations helped shape its success giving the NFL brand a broader appeal worldwide.

Mr. Vainisi brings decades of professional football experience to Major League Football. As General Manager of the Chicago Bears, he guided the franchise to its only Super Bowl Championship in 1985. A few years later, as Vice-President of Player Personnel for the Detroit Lions, his recommendation to draft future Hall of Fame running back, Barry Sanders, paid long-term dividends for the organization.

"I believe Major League Football is the answer to the gap of professional football in the spring," Mr. Vainisi began. "The timing for our league is ripe, as demand for football during this era of expansion of digital media sports networks require content to broadcast to an ever-increasing and diverse base football fans. Football remains the #1 watched sport in America and past spring league attendance numbers still speak for themselves. Although such leagues were launched as much as 30 plus years ago, their attendance numbers rank them as the third and fourth most widely attended sporting events. I am very excited for the future of our league. The team of sporting and business professionals we have amassed, along with the positive feedback we are already receiving from our target cities and media companies, are indicative of a successful campaign up to our kickoff date in spring of 2016."
