The Article Discusses the Old Saying ‘There’s No Such Thing as Bad Publicity,’ and Examines if this Advice is True in the Real Estate Industry

Los Angeles, CA / ACCESSWIRE / November 27, 2014 / Michael Royce Montrief, a real estate professional from California, has just posted a new and thought-provoking article to his website that offers sage advice to people who work in the industry. The real estate marketing article, titled  “Is All Publicity in Real Estate Marketing Still Good Publicity?” looks at a hot topic in the real estate industry—the notion that all press is inherently good press.

Montrief takes pride in using his background as an internet marketer to excel in the field of real estate. He often writes blog posts and helps other real estate professionals in the industry with marketing tips and strategies. This on-going goal is what inspired Montrief  to write his new article, and examine if the age-old saying “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” is true for the real estate market.

“Many business owners and real estate professionals believe that everything is fine and dandy as long people are talking about you, regardless whether they like your brand or not,” Montrief wrote in the new article, adding that upon further reflection, this mindset might not be the best for marketing real estate.

“Do consumers really buy from agents and real estate companies they don’t like but do so just because they appear on the news or do outlandish things to get attention?”

Instead of trying to get their names out into the public eye however possible, Montrief notes that the most diligent real estate offices and businesses will know what sort of information they would not want their target market privy to.

Admittedly, Montrief wrote, sometimes a small amount of unfavorable publicity may help a real estate business—especially if it is a completely unknown company.

“It will certainly put the business in the public eye or on social media, and as a result, people will be more open to information about the company,” he wrote, adding that in general, a successful real estate marketing campaign should focus on a more conservative approach.

“Deals revolve around high levels of trust and large dollar amounts so it should go without saying that thinking twice before launching a ‘marketing stunt’ would probably be the best policy to ensure keeping your reputation intact for years to come.”
