Hagen Ruff's green energy company, Chava Wind, reaches new heights

MIAMI, FL / ACCESSWIRE / October 30, 2014 / Chava Wind LLC, a division of Chava Energy LLC founded by Hagen Ruff, has established a 12 kW Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) prototype at its test location in Homestead, FL near Miami in August of this year, and is testing a 25 kW prototype at the same location.

Ruff is hoping that the success of Chava Wind will financially support and accelerate the ongoing experimental research for Chava Energy, which is being conducted in labs located in the United States, Germany, and Australia. There is a lot of confusion about Small Wind vs. Big Wind, so Ruff addressed this and is looking to clear up the uncertainty so people can make smarter, more financially sound decisions.

"Generally, the success of Small Wind has not been as consistent as that of Solar, mostly because it is a lot more complex to understand and evaluate," said Ruff.

Chava Energy is in the experimental stage of developing breakthrough technologies to deliver new forms of energy that are inexhaustible, clean, inexpensive, and available to anyone, anywhere. These new energy technologies will dramatically improve our global economic outlook and minimize our environmental footprint. The goal of Chava's research is to be able to convert ambient energy into electric energy, so in theory there would be an inexhaustible supply of energy.

Their entrance into the market will be Japan, where clean energy has become a major interest since the Fukushima nuclear power plant was damaged in the 2011 tsunami, which led to a melt-down and the biggest nuclear disaster since Chernobyl in 1986.

"After the Fukushima power plant reactors went down, the Japanese have a shortage of energy and do not want to increase their dependence on fossil fuels, and instead want to follow the German model and substantially grow the renewable segment, of which small VAWT's are one of their defined pillars," said Ruff.

Chava Wind over the past years has developed an efficient, robust and aesthetic style of wind turbine and it is now being up-scaled to fit into the most sough-after market segment in Japan. To help spur interest in smaller wind turbines, Japan is incentivizing turbines up 20KW rated inverter capacity with a grid Feed-in-tariff at the equivalent of 58 US cents per kWh of energy.

"Although regional energy policies can change quite frequently, this is a great starting point," Ruff added.

The new 25kW prototype is being designed, built, and currently tested at their facility in Homestead and has a projected completion date by the end of November.
